Amanda Von Riesen is a versatile visual artist living in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada. Her acrylic paintings are diverse in Abstract, Expressionism and Realism. She's also recognized for her pencil drawing and portraits.
If you ask Von Riesen what drives her passion, it's traveling and capturing her inspiration on film, writing and performing original music, and being a student of humanity.
Her first major recognition occurred in 2012, when her work, entitled 'Young Minds,' was chosen to be the focal point for the advertising and exhibition at Duluth's Art In Bayfront Park. Since then, she has become a prolific artist in the local scene, providing original pieces for community events and galas. Generating a clientele for her commission-based work continues to be a success, whether creating for or collaborating with Grammy award winning artists, or the neighbour down the street.
In 2015, Von Riesen was in the national news/media for her contribution in bringing the historic Queen Elizabeth II painting back to Winnipeg, Canada.
Her stylistic expressions have been guided by her true love of living, pursuing happiness and purpose.
Most recently she was one of the artists chosen for an exhibition titled "Unbound Perspectives" In New York at Agora Gallery. The highly anticipated reception took place Sept. 1, 2016. Representation by Agora Gallery has given Amanda many new opportunities in the art world!
Amanda is a board member of The Manitoba Arts Network
